Does compression affect text?
No — text, links, and form fields are untouched. Only embedded raster images are recompressed.
Why didn't my file get much smaller?
PDFs that are mostly text or vector graphics have little image data to compress in the first place.
Is this reversible?
No — recompression is lossy at Balanced and Maximum. Keep your original if you might need full quality again.
