Does it work on transparent PNGs?
Yes. With “Same as original” a transparent PNG stays a transparent PNG and is shrunk by smart colour reduction (the technique TinyPNG uses). Only choosing JPG flattens transparency onto white.
What quality should I pick?
75% is a safe default for photography. Drop to 60% for aggressive compression, raise to 90%+ for graphics with fine detail.
