FAQ

Questions, answered.

Where are my images processed?

Every compression runs in your browser using the Canvas API — files never touch a server.

Will visual quality drop?

Lossless keeps every pixel intact. Lossy and Smart Auto pick a quality that keeps images visually indistinguishable while shrinking them 40–80%.

Is there a size limit?

Up to 30 MB per file. Browser memory limits very large batches — split them if needed.

How is metadata preserved?

Canvas re-encoding strips EXIF/XMP by design. When 'preserve' is on, files that don't save at least 15% are returned unchanged so their metadata survives.
