FAQ
Questions, answered.
Where are my images processed?
Every compression runs in your browser using the Canvas API — files never touch a server.
Will visual quality drop?
Lossless keeps every pixel intact. Lossy and Smart Auto pick a quality that keeps images visually indistinguishable while shrinking them 40–80%.
Is there a size limit?
Up to 30 MB per file. Browser memory limits very large batches — split them if needed.
Does this produce true progressive JPEG?
Modern browser encoders produce optimized baseline JPEG that renders progressively when served. For byte-identical progressive markers, use the desktop `jpegtran` command after export.
